SHIELD SECURITY CONSULTANTS LTD is a Maltese owned and run enterprise specialising in the field of organisational risk management.  With the entry into force of various international and local legislations, occupational health and safety [OH&S] has recently assumed tremendous importance within this vital field of risk management.  SHIELD has taken on the challenges of qualifying its consultants, fully geared up towards the mandatory legal requirements status and has put together an impressive, multi-disciplinary team of expert consultants. 

 

Status of Professional Qualifications

It is Company policy that all our trainers and consultants are suitably competent to meet the demands of the profession.  The Company ensures that all its consultants and trainers meet the following requirements:

• Demonstrate expertise in general aspects of safety as required by law;
• Demonstrate appropriate knowledge of safety legislation and emerging best practice;
• Have a capability to assess the likely safety risks that could occur at the workplace, and be able to advise on how to mitigate these risks in practice;
• Ability to maintain and improve the expertise of our personnel and to monitor the continuing trustworthiness of our personnel;
• Ability to maintain appropriate measures to avoid unauthorized disclosure of or access to sensitive safety material when stored within the Company`s possession;
• Knowledge of the requirements of Maltese and European OH&S laws;
• Knowledge of workplace safety hazards;
• Knowledge on recognition and detection of dangerous and harmful substances;
• Knowledge on recognition of characteristics and behavioral patterns of persons who are likely to cause safety problems, and on bad habits used to avoid or ignore safety measures; and
• Knowledge of Safety Management Systems and Safe Systems of Work.
